Funding for The Dark Triad: Dragon’s Death has been momentarily canceled.
Nearly 300 people showed their support for the game The Dark Triad:Dragon’s Death on Kickstarter. The company says due to poor public relation planning they are temporarily removing the game from the website.
They also say that with PAX East wrapping up and GDC up next, they wouldn’t have the funds to promote enough of The Dark Triad. They are holding back on mentioning the game with other top games having just been announced on Kickstarter as well. They feel that supporters may have donated to the larger games and will not spend money on the smaller projects such as The Dark Triad.
The company went on to say that they have not done a great job in promoting the game or what it is about. The information they have released has been confusing regarding the main plot line and mechanic of the game. Some texts inside of the game were not properly proofread due to lack of coordination with editors. This led to many typos. Currently the company is working on a new video to promote the game that will better explain the combat and dialogue situation. The story is getting a tweak as well; by taking out some elements and explaining characters in depth.
Turn based combat will be one of the major focuses the game developers will be working on, seeing as it is an RPG. This being the first focal point they are wanting to work on. The second is tweaking the non-combat skills system. Improvement to the games graphic quality is being worked on as well.
The development team is taking the month of April to look into all of the issues with the Kickstarter campaign. The Dark Triad is not off the books for good. They say it will be back on Kickstarter with a fresh look and all the PR problems fixed. Stay tuned on May 6th for the return of The Dark Triad: Dragon’s Death.
