The Elder Scrolls is a game series which requires no introduction. Developed and published by Bethesda. They have defined the western RPG genre with the Elder Scrolls, but now I shed tears of happiness with the anthology as this is what everyone has wanted. But I am sorry for those who aren’t on the PC and are expecting this to come on the X-Box and PS3 because it’s not happening, this is only for the PC and it includes Elder Scrolls: Arena to Skyrim Legendary Edition. So essentially it has every Elder Scrolls game, but wait there’s more! It also comes with five physical maps of Tamriel, Lliiac Bay, Morrowind, Cyrodill and Skyrim. But all of this comes at a price, £50/€60/90AUD, to be precise. But I think this is a great price for what it provides, I mean, look at it! Every Elder Scrolls game with the premium content!
As I write this now I can’t help but be excited for all this, or maybe its the soft drinks. But there is some bad news as well, we have to wait till September 13th for this to come out. It’s something I would’ve liked to play during summer but we all can’t be choosers. But I can assume there will be some bugs with the earlier games because it’s going to be run through a DOS emulator and they are prone to issues, so we can only hope that they will be ironed out.
I have my own opinion which I have already expressed throughout this article, but this is quite pricey in terms of game-wise. The maps are a nice addition and every DLC for Elder Scrolls, but this might sway people who just want the games and the add-ons. It might be criticised that these older games could be purchased on their own for less, but I could only find ones which are around £200 boxed and new. So I’d much rather pay £50 for all than £200 for Arena.
