The Tyranny of King Washington Continues Assassin’s Creed III’s Story

Tyranny of King Washington Begins in February

Assassin’s Creed III is getting some new DLC with the Tyranny of King Washington story line, a three-part adventure. The first episode, The Infamy, will be released for Xbox 360 and PC on February 19th and on the 20th for Playstation 3 users. All Assassin’s Creed III DLC will be available for Nintendo’s Wii U, but prices and dates have not yet been released.

In The Infamy, Connor will be awakening from an unsettling dream only to find that his efforts to bring freedom to the newly founded United States of America, the power-hungry George Washington has been crowned king and must be dealt with. The Tyranny of King Washington series will focus on Assassin’s Creed III’s protagonist, Connor, attempting to dethrone King Washington.

Players who want to buy The Infamy as a standalone chapter can do so for 800 Microsoft points on Xbox 360 or for £7.99 on PC and the Playstation Store. The complete Tyranny of King Washington DLC pack can be bought through the Assassin’s Creed III Season Pass for 2400 Microsoft Points or £23.99 on PS3 and PC. Also, if you’re a PC user and don’t own Assassin’s Creed III, a deluxe edition is out now as a digital download which contains the main game and will include all future downloadable content.

DLC, when handled properly, can be a great thing. Personally, I don’t like to buy individual pieces of content. I don’t mind waiting a bit and experiencing the whole thing at once, so I’ll be waiting for all three episodes to be released and buy them all at once. Going a step further, if I know that a game will have multiple DLC packs, like with a Fallout or Borderlands game, I’ll often wait for a Game of the Year edition. What is your stance?
