An enhanced version of one of the top rates comic series of all time by Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead: Assault will now be available for Android phones and tablets on Google Play. Together with UK mobile game developer Gamagio, Skybound and Skybound Asia announced the release of the new game for the Android mobile and tablet devices, based on Robert Kirkman’s popular graphics novels, The Walking Dead. The Walking Dead: Assault was made available on July 18th, downloadable worldwide from the Google Play store for Android devices, being featured for a special launch price of $2.99 for a limited time.

The game features many enhancements from the original game. Some of these enhancements include better sound and visual FX, some new tweaks to the games difficulty, extra booster items that can give you more ammo and health, and a updated Michonne character from the games original release. Similar to the first installment of the comic book series, Days Gone Bye, the game begins at the moment when Rick Grimes awakens in the hospital without knowing how he got there. The player gets to visit Atlanta in some of the first days of the outbreak, the campsite, and some fan favorite locations, with danger near in all directions.

You will select a team of four, with you being able to chose with some of The Walking Dead favorites: Rick, Lori, Carl, Glenn, Shane, Michonne, Andrea, Carol, Sophia and Dale. You have to take advantage of all of the characters special abilities to fight there way through the horde of zombies that await them. While doing this you will also be able to complete bonus objectives and challenges which will unlock exclusive content from The Walking Dead, these exclusives include artwork, wallpapers, behind-the-scenes trivia, and some Game Center achievements. You will also be able to collect future episodes that parallel with the same timeline as the comic.

You can also prove your skills to others by using the Game Center leaderboards, four different levels of difficulty, and a endless possibility of challenges. The game will feature same locations that the comic book has, with a 3D art style based upon the comics same look. Players will also be able to trigger distractions such as flares or car alarms to help keep their team safe from the oncoming hoard of undead, with a intuitive control scheme designed specifically with touchscreens in mind. The game is optimized for the Samsung Galaxy, Nexus and HTC1 devices that are running Android v2.3 or higher, with atleast 512MB of available RAM.  The Walking Dead: Assault is produced and published by Skybound, Skybound Asia and developed by Gamagio.
