Upon anticipation of the games release, Sega has released a launch trailer for Total War: Rome II. The game release September 3rd and the official description reads:
An incredible period of history, the creation of the world’s first superpower, the dominance of a people, a culture and a defining way of life that still has repercussions today. Over 2,000 years ago the Romans set out on a path that culminated in the creation of an empire the like of which the world had never seen, and may never see again. A time of glorious victories and bloody defeats, heroic and despotic men and women, families that tore each other apart in pursuit of the eternal city and the power it represented. Some attained that prize, but only fleetingly. Many more failed. How far will you go for Rome?
In the gorgeous cinematic trailer, we are shown some of the most major events in Roman history, and glimpses of soldiers as they are struck down on the fields. In one scene we are shown Cleopatra in what appears to be her final hours when we see snakes slithering on the ground.
