Trine 2: Goblin Menace Launched with Steam Discount

Trine 2: Goblin Menace has been launched with a 15% discount on Steam, in addition to a 75% discount on Steam for Trine 2 and the original Trine. Oh Steam, you always know how to make summer feel special. Even though all other game publishers reject summer to push their products out around the holidays, Steam understands that for many people, the summer constitutes long, boring hours punctuated by horrible heat and sunburns.

I get that publishers want to make money off of holiday sales, but a large audience of youngsters has nothing to do in the summer other than make me completely miserable when I play COD, so why not make them buy your subpar products? Seriously, they’re desperate for entertainment, and their parents are desperate to shut them up, so why don’t you release your stuff over the summer? No? You don’t like money, you say? Ok, I’ll just give it to Steam.

Trine 2: Goblin Menace introduces six new skills, a new campaign, and some goblins, because everybody sort of forgot about goblins with all of the zombies, vampires, and werewolves running around in the gaming world. For anyone unfamiliar with Trine, it is a very, very pretty game. I’m almost positive it’s impossible to find a non-pretty screenshot of it. Players travel through the beautiful landscape, doing typical puzzle-platforming stuff and fighting waves of enemies. Players have the choice to play as a wizard, a knight, or a thief as they work their way through a series of puzzles.

I’ve always wondered why those are the default skill classes for many games. There must be some adventurous fishmongers or cobblers who deserve their own games. Trine 2: Goblin Menace will be released sometime in the future for both the App Store, Linux, and the Wii U.
