Worms: The Revolution Collection was released on Xbox 360 back in May 3rd
Whether you’re a gamer looking for a bargain, looking to give the franchise a try or a long term fan, listen up because Maximum Games just announced that November 19th will see the release of Worms: The Revolution Collection on the PS3.
With a name like that it goes without saying that the collection features both Worms Revolution and Worms 2: Armageddon.
Let’s start with Worms Revolution. Worms Revolution breaks away from other games in the series by moving into the 2.5D realm. Revolution still features the hours of gameplay you expect from Worms both offline as well as against other players around the world. The Revolution Collection also has the Funfair, Mars and Medieval Tales packs. Each pack contains new features to improve the game including new weapons and themes with the Funfair pack, hats and speech banks with Medieval Tales pack and yet more weapons and themes amongst others with the Mars pack.
Meanwhile Worms 2: Armageddon brings the series back into 2D with new visuals and an array of destructive weapons. These weapons include Napalm Strikes, Earthquakes, Indian Nuclear Test and even the games namesake Armageddon which flattens the field with Meteors.
Like Worms Revolution Armageddon also comes with its DLC packs. The 4 DLC packs are the Forts, Puzzle, Retro and Time Attack pack. The Forts pack includes 10 forts for multiplayer, 3 new hats and 3 new gravestones. The Puzzle pack includes 20 single player missions, 3 more hats and 3 more gravestones along with more.
The Retro pack features 20 single-player missions from the classic Worms Armageddon game that have been remade for the game as well as yet more hats and gravestones. Finally the Time Attack pack changes from the rest of the packs because the 20 missions in this pack are based on your skill with the rope and jet packs instead of blowing other worms apart. Oh and there’s also more hats, gravestones and speech packs as well.
These two games were previously only available for PlayStation owners through download but come November 19th they’ve come together in the Worms: The Revolution Collection. The collection will be rated E 10+ and will only cost $19.99. To put that into perspective Worms Revolution by itself costs $14.99 to download.
