War thunder reaches 5 million players

Gaijin entertainment are celebrating the first aniversary of their top selling cross platform MMO game

The makers of War Thunder, Gaijin Entertainment, have recently announced that their massive MMO game is celebrating two well acheived milestones. It has now been a year since the open beta for War Thunder was released in Russia with the international launch the following January. To top that off, in just 12 months the game has reached a record high of 5 million players fighting in some of the most infamous planes in world history.

First released on Steam, it became the first russian game announced for PS4 and next gen consoles. Hundreds of new planes have also been added to the game over the past year along with new modes and loads of improvements.

Anton Yudinstev, CEO of Gaijin Entertainment, said of the game “To those who have served, and to those who continue to step up to answer the call of duty in War Thunder – we salute you! In your honor Gaijin Entertainment is organizing Golden Battles on November 3rd and 10th – this is a good chance for all players to improve their balance and get a unique decal to decorate their planes!”

War Thunder is contstantly developing and growing and with over 5 million players currently battling across the skies, it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down any time soon. It is currently in Open Beta on PC and is being developed for Mac OS and Oculus Rift. It has also been announced that it is going to a launch title on the PlayStation 4.
