Crytek and Trion Worlds have proudly announced they will be co-publishing and co-operating Warface, a free-to-play first person shooter that will now be on its way to North America, Europe, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand using Trion’s own GFACE and several unique systems.
The CEO and founder of Crytek, Cevat Yerli said “Trion is the company spearheading a revolution in gaming through delivering premium online games across big genres powered by a proven, cutting edge platform. The combination of this platform, GFACE and Warface shows Crytek’s commitment to finding innovative new ways to bring superior gaming experiences and AAA titles to gamers. That’s why we are creating strong strategic alliances with the best online publishers across the world.”
The two developers are creating an interesting alliance, using Trion’s platform called “Red Door” which is a massive development and publishing solution for online games, allowing unmatched control and movement for game currency, a major point for the free-to-play model. Red Door also offers detailed server architecture and unique toolsets to help the developers get more content to more players at a faster pace.
The CEO and founder of Trion Worlds has also commented on the matter, stating “Crytek has repeatedly proven their foresight and they are doing that again by leading the shift towards delivering high-quality, free-to-play, online games. We are very impressed with Warface and Crytek’s commitment to polished gameplay, amazing graphics, technical excellence, and real innovation. We very much feel that we are kindred companies and stand strong together.”
Warface is currently available for the PC, and only in Russia, but being restricted to one country hasn’t hindered its progress in the slightest, having an impressive two million registered users and breaking all player concurrency records in the first four weeks of its launch. The original Crytek game is praised highly for its amazing graphics, innovation, and incredible AI, also winning Best Game and Best Graphics at the Russian KRI Awards. The modern shooter was created using Crytek’s amazing CryENGINE® 3, complete with their entire AI and physics library with next-gen cinematic visuals. Warface involves a large universe set in the near future, and is full of intense PvE, engaging co-op missions, and fun-filled class based PvP combat.
