For those of you who have experienced Strategic Command WWI: The Great War you will be pleased to hear that there is an expansion in the works. WWI Breakthrough is currently in its late beta stages, however is due for release in 8-12 weeks.
There are not many World War I games out there despite it being an interesting topic; many war games these days revolve around modern conflicts or World War II. Though it is unknown why, what is known is that WWI Breakthrough is set to provide you with heaps of entertainment, with more than 20 campaigns to complete.
Catering for all needs Breakthrough has the options of high, medium and low level campaigns to provide you with both short and longer challenges.
With the release of WWI Breakthrough there will also be a plethora of new features to bring new life to the original game, including a deployment phase so that you are not left panicking with heaps of units while the AI easily calculates every move with his unlimited brain capacity and its thousands of hands. An experience I am sure every strategy player has witnessed.
Old campaigns receive an update and new campaigns are included to bring you the maximum enjoyment possible. What is particularly interesting is the option to see what may have happened if forces were placed differently, for example the 1914 Ostaufmarsch campaign is included for those who would wish t explore what could have happened had the Germans started the war with the majority of their forces in the East.
WWI Breakthrough brings an all-round improvement to the original game and with it more content for you to enjoy. For those of you interested, you can check out their website here: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=300&Itemid=512
