Game Insight, a leading name in developing smart phone and social games have announced that their popular free to play strategy game Airport City is coming to iPhone. Airport City has only previously been available on Android devices and was only recently released for the iPad.
Airport City allows players a two-tiered take on the classic building strategy game layout. In the game players are put in charge of a growing city which includes a team of support staff and a growing airport. Players must continually build up terminals and hangars in order to progress. Terminals and hangars are used in the game to house seven types of passenger planes. These planes are used to earn money which players can use to build and develop their own individual city.
Game Insight have however in an attempt to offer the player a more challenging game play experience, included a feature where the player must also develop a neighboring city. In the city there are over 50 types of housing, shopping and utility buildings which exist provide service to the airports customers.
As the game progresses, players can choose to expand and build new territories within the game by purchasing plots of land in order to build additional airport terminals and service buildings.
In the game players will also have to carry out a number of tasks as well as simultaneously developing airport terminals and the associated support towns. They will face challenges such as sending various flights to a wide range of destinations, controlling air traffic and landings, harvesting items and developing new territories. There is also a feature where players can complete a range of different quests and collect rare items in the game.
Airport City is said to both a challenging and entertaining strategy game. It is designed to test the players ‘tycooning and empire-building skills’.
