The Amazon company, LOVEFiLM, has announced its “new and improved” instant video streaming application for the Xbox 360. The LOVEFiLM instant stream app will reach 76 million consoles worldwide and will feature some improvements to its search functions, and recommendation engines. LOVEFiLM has also improved upon its user interface and has added a watch list to make it easier to find what is popular at the time.
LOVEFiLM also has added a “revisiting content” feature in which the viewer can go back and view the program from where he/she left off on any device.
The enhanced LOVEFiLM Instant streaming application for Xbox 360 is available to download on Xbox Live… today, and will soon be made available on all LOVEFiLM-enabled devices.
LOVEFiLM has over 2 million members in the United Kingdom and Germany and those users have access to programs from various “major studios” including Warner Bros., Twentieth Century Fox, NBC Universal, and Disney. The LOVEFiLM instant stream can be used on many internet connected devices such as: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, the Kindles, and other devices!
If you want to get on board with this, £4.99 (around $8.00) per month is all that is needed to watch things on your devices that you could never do with Netflix or Hulu.
Authors Opinion:I have no idea why the world needs another one of these services. I thought Netflix was completely fine. Having said that, since Viacom has been acting like a teenage girl, I suppose we will have to trade in Netflix for, ugh…. LOVEFiLM. But, the funny thing is, the list of companies that have signed with Amazon LOVEFiLM did not include Viacom either. So I guess, we can’t watch Spongebob Squarepants on any online medium legally anymore… Well, thank you Piratebay for allowing people to download anything they bloody well please.
