Battlefield 4 DLC Second Assault available at launch on Xbox One

Battlefield 4 expansion pack Second Assault will be available at launch on Xbox One.

Battlethumb-4While the DLC was already confirmed as a timed exclusive release on Microsoft’s console, a specific launch date hadn’t previously been announced.

EA said that Second Assault will be “available at launch first on Xbox One“, which hits stores on November 22.

Set for release on other platforms at a later date, the expansion pack will include four “fan-favourite” Battlefield 3 maps redesigned using the Frostbite 3 engine “and enhanced to include new multiplayer features from Battlefield 4″.

Second Assault is one of five Battlefield 4 expansions due for release for the summer of 2014. They can be pre-ordered as part of the £39.99 / $50 Battlefield Premium subscription offer. The other expansions are China Rising, Naval Strike, Dragon’s Teeth and Final Stand.

Second Assault will gets its first showing later today during a livestreamed event kicking off at 5pm GMT / 6pm BST / 10am Pacific. Xbox Live‘s Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hyrb and Graeme ‘AceyBongos’ Boyd will be commanding 32-person US and European squads in a head-to-head battle on Xbox One.

The only thing that has peaked my interest is the fact that it will be running at 60 frames per second which is a huge improvement over 30 frames per second.
