At this year’s E3 Murdered: Soul Suspect received 28 nominations and won 11 awards for its twist on the action/adventure genre. The twist? You have to solve your own murder.

Players take the role of detective Ronan O’Connor whose life is brought to an untimely end by a brutal and relentless killer. Unable to cope with his demise, Ronan becomes trapped in limbo; unable to crossover until his killer is brought to justice. Ronan is free to explore the town of Salem, Massachusetts, from his shadowy afterlife. While unable to communicate with the detectives on his case, Ronan can instead read the minds of the living and influence their thoughts and actions. In this way, Ronan can slowly piece the puzzle together to uncover the truth about his murder and save his soul.

Murdered: Soul Suspect is being developed by Airtight Games and published by Square Enix, and I must say I think they are on to something here. I cannot wait to give this one a try! Murdered: Souls Suspect will be out sometime in early 2014 for PC, Xbox360, and PS3.
