Hold on to your plasma cutters because Dead Space 3 just got a whole lot more epic! Today at Gamescom Visceral Games has officially revealed an all new gameplay trailer for the next instalment in the sci-fi horror franchise and it looks to be shaping up brilliantly!
This new gameplay footage sets the stage for what seems to be the most heart pounding and most of all scary trip into the Dead Space universe yet. While fans of the series first assumed that leading man Isaac Clarke was stranded on a sub-zero temperature planet, this new footage clearly shows that we will once again be revisiting the dark depths of space.
From the looks of things Isaac has also received a few upgrades. Gone have the arbitrary scrolling through of weapons and now a new weapon combo system has been emplaced, this means dual wielding weapons in one hand as you switch between plasma cutter to a new and improved weapon can be done on the fly. Isaac also seems to get some new digs with a cool looking Haze inspired helmet and another costume that seems to make our hero look like the modern age Han Solo. Cool eh?
Those wondering where Dead Space can go in terms of plot might actually be surprised by the slight hints within this all new trailer. From the get go we seem to get a slight look of what seems to be the actual black marker that started all the problems for Isaac. Not only that but it seems Isaac’s sanity is still draining from him like a cup with a small hole in the bottom. This leaves us to wonder if newly introduced coop partner John Carver can keep Isaac in reality and help him put an end to the markers and their insanity inducing powers one and for all.
Dead Space 3 is set for release on February 2013 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
