Death's Apprentice Headed to Consoles

Independent developer BGG Productions, in collaboration with BioGamer Girl, announced today that the hit PC RPG Death's Apprentice, is set for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U next year.

As well as receiving a console release, the game will also include new features like online multiplayer that will support up to four players.  In Death's Apprentice there will be over 100 detailed locations to explore. BGG productions have stated that players will be able to relive many features that they know and love from the era of classic RPGs.

Amanda Dyar, President and Executive Producer of BGG Media spoke about the game commenting:

"We have had such an amazing reception for the PC version of Death's Apprentice which has inspired us to add even more game features for console users.”

Death's Apprentice takes place in the world of Barron.  Death is missing and the  the rules of death no longer apply. Anyone or anything can endure any type of injury or disease. The circle of life has come to a stop and the city streets are filled with chaos. Mother Nature soon learns that death no longer applies to them and many cities are overrun by creatures of all sorts.

Gamers will play as Deaths’ apprentice in the game. His powers do not rival his masters but he can still wield the power to take the life from any person or creature that is weak enough. Death’s apprentice in the game sets off to discover what happened to his former master and restore order to the land.

Deaths apprentice is a turn based RPG. Each character in the game will have their own unique abilities. When battles in the game are over, death's apprentice can absorb the enemies' souls. This will allow the group of adventurers to gain enough souls to level up and gain new strengths and abilities.

Death’s Apprentice will feature handcrafted animation and beautiful 2D art included in the game. Most of the game will take place on the world map and in a variety of dungeons. However players will visit many towns and villages throughout their journey. These cities will serve as safe havens where the party can rest, resupply and find new missions from the towns' NPCs.

The console version of Death's Apprentice will be available to pre-order soon with a standard edition costing $59.99 and the Limited Collector’s Edition costing $79.99.

Death's Apprentice will be released on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii U in early 2013.
