Yes you heard me correctly. Dragon Ball Z is muscling it’s way into the growing army of Kinect titles. NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe have announced Dragon Ball Z For Kinect™ and will also include some thrilling exclusive content, such as the “Episode of Bardock” which is an episode of the anime show that previously hasn’t been available within Europe. Dragon Ball Z For Kinect will also feature Bardock Super Saiyan as a playable character for the first time ever in the history of Dragon Ball video games.
Dragon Ball Z for Kinect will obviously feature the classic action and intensity that you have come to love and enjoy from the Dragon Ball Z universe, but now you can feel more Kinected (see what i did there?) to the whole experience. Bad jokes aside, because of the choice to integrate Kinect into the Dragon Ball universe, you can now use your fists to use over 100 moves on your enemies to silence them. The coolest thing though is the fact you can use the legendary Kamehameha to aid you in your quest for victory.
It’s being developed by developers Spike Chunsoft Co. Ltd and is loaded with epic battles, famous attacks, and over 50 iconic characters authentically recreated from the original manga series. I’m hoping for Goku and Majiin Boo to be in the game. Dragon Ball Z For Kinect will allow players to unleash the full might of their inner Super Saiyan with no controller in the way, which sounds very cool indeed.
Dragon Ball Z is making full use of the Kinect sensor. Dragon Ball Z For Kinect will also support QR code functionality, allowing fans to hold up and scan special QR codes to unlock characters and power-ups in the game.
With ‘Story Mode’ and ‘Score Attack’ modes to choose from, players will be able to experience the legendary story, battles and events of the Dragon Ball universe from a first-person perspective for the first time. The game’s dramatic fights use anime-style camerawork, with success depending on the player accurately recreating their character’s moves and attacks from key moments in the anime, so I’d find the old videos of Dragon Ball Z you have stashed under your bed as you are going to need to know your stuff.
The combination of CG cut scenes and unique controls lets players experience giant boss battles like never before, while the ‘Score Attack’ mode pits opponents against each other in ferocious 1-on-1 battles to decide the ultimate victor, which will no doubt end in one person blaming their loss on the other person’s connection.
Dragon Ball Z for Kinect will blast its way faster than a speeding Dragon Ball into Europe on October 5th, 2012.
