EA announced Command and Conquer Generals 2 for the PC today at Gamescon 2012 in Cologne, Germany. It will be launched in 2013 and is developed by BioWare Victory one of the developers of EA making them the series third developer after Westwood Studios and EA Los Angeles.
Command and Conquer Generals 2 will be the follow up of the C&C Generals from 2003, But crazy enough Generals 2 will be free online available from Origin client, Formerly EA download manager, and so free to play!
C&C Generals 2 that is powered by Frostbite 2 is a game engine, that refers to the basic software of a computer game or video game.
This specific engine will give gamers complete access to the cutting-edge visuals, sound and destruction of a full, AAA quality strategy game all at no cost.
The game will also introduce downloadable content to the series, with new maps, units, factions and campaign missions.

The story is set to take place after the events of the original C&C Generals, Where the USA and China teamed up to battle against the Global Liberation Army (GLA) AKA Terrorists.
In the near future of a Fictional Universe, the World leaders are about to sign a summit to end the war globally when there enrages a devestating terrorist attack that kills them all.
This leaves the world without its politicians, diplomats and activists with only the Generals of each country remaining to end the terrorism who are rebelling the world.
The game will set the tone of more modern and serious, hero-like and intense but still delivering over the top action.
Gameplay
Players will be able to take control of multiple factions, such as the technologically-advanced European Union, the militant Global Liberation Army (GLA), and one yet to be revealed faction.
It will feature again the games staples of base buildings, contruction of large armies (tanks, soldiers, and aircrafts) that you will lead into freaking sick battles. Resource collection that you also compete for, incredibly detailed units, fully destructible environments, dynamic physics, and exhilarating visual effects.
Command & Conquer is poised to re-define what gamers expect from a strategy game.
