Free Wargame DLC Available on Steam

A third set of free DLC for Wargame European Escalation is available on Steam. This new DLC is entitled “Commander,” most likely because “Commando” was taken. It offers a new game mode called, “Economy,” which allows us to play in either single player or multiplayer mode, where victory comes in the form of either saving command points or spending them to replace your losses and defend your territory. Personally, if I was looking for an efficient form of defense for my humble abode, I would invest in a dragon. It is true that they can be difficult to find, but once you’ve got one you have a security system that will last for hundreds of years as long as you occasionally feed it human flesh and give it a pile of gold to guard.

Totally worth the investment. Most of my money goes toward research on supposedly mythological or make-believe creatures. I’m almost completely broke, but I have a breathtaking collection of blurry photographs of the creatures I’ve found.

There are a lot of other updates to Wargame European Escalation. Besides the Economy mode, there are new maps available for Destruction, Conquest, and Economy modes. These maps have a lot of hills apparently. The map Storm Eye is now available for Alamo mode, while Fulda Gap and River of Blood are available for Conquest mode. That last one sounds a bit…Biblical. Wargame European Escalation is also 66% off on Steam until September 27th.

Finally, we have more information about the sequel to Wargame European Escalation, also known as Wargame AirLand Battle. And by information I mean screenshots. There will be 200 new ground-based combat units and vehicles. Who knew there could be so much fabulous variety in war?
