Get Ready To Rumble With Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale

As you may have heard, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale’s release date is getting closer. So over the next few months information will be slipping through the cracks of the internet and into your mind. The latest trailer to hit the web is titled the ‘Evo’ trailer.

It’s not a very long trailer but boy, does it build anticipation. From the start of the trailer we see real life people in cosplay of the characters they are routing for, but once the game play footage kicks in, it really shows how fun the game looks.

With stages varying from God of War scenary to PaRappa the Rappa, who i feel was included as a nod to Playstation Veterans around the world. Anyway back to the trailer. You can clearly see that Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale has, lets say borrowed a few ideas from a certain Nintendo game, however, you can also see how they have tried to make it their own unique formula to stray away from criticism.

This isn’t simply a game that has been shoved together as quickly as possible to generate money, you can see the tiny details that have most likely taken time and been included within stages and characters to keep a small feel of the original games. They even captured Kratos’ ‘angry at everything’ facial expression, which really gives it some extra authenticity.

Along with the host of varying playable characters, All-Stars also comes with a range of items and levels influenced by various PlayStation franchises. Currently there are five stages confirmed, each based on a combination of two games. Metropolis is based on Ratchet & Clank and God of War, Sandover Village on Jak & Daxter and Hot Shots Golf, Dreamscape on LittleBigPlanet and Buzz!, Hades on God of War and Patapon and Dojo on PaRappa the Rapper and Killzone. In addition there are also six item pick-ups that have been revealed, such as the Hedgehog Grenade from Resistance and the Gravity Shield from Wipeout.

I personally think that this is a fantastic idea that Sony have adopted. Putting many of their A titles lead stars into one big game where they beat each other for victory is just a win situation for not only every Playstation fan, but fans of fighting games altogether.

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale will be releasing on October 23, 2012 in North America, October 24, 2012 in Europe, October 25, 2012 in Australia and New Zealand and October 26, 2012 in UK and Ireland so keep your eyes peeled for this one.
