Indiegogo Confirmed for Games Invest 2012

It has been confirmed by Eurogamer and GamesIndustry International that Indiegogo will make an appearance at Games Invest 2012, giving out some valuable tips for building a strong foundation to help bring game developer’s ideas to fruition.

Hosted by Indiegogo’s  Gaming Vertical Lead, John Vaskis, the session is scheduled to take place on Thursday 27th September, 2012. The discussion, titled “Harnessing the Crowd: How Crowdfunding is Shaping the Gaming Ecosystem”, will cover important topics pertaining to crowdfunding such as how it helps and how game developers can utilize it to launch their ideas.

“Raising capital through friends, family, colleagues and perfect strangers, has not only opened up the financial floodgates, but the creative possibilities in the game industry,” said John Vaskis, Indiegogo’s Gaming Vertical Lead. “Crowdfunding is so much more than just raising capital – it gives developers direct access to customer feedback and the ability to gauge public interest early in a project's life cycle, which can save a lot of time and money.”

The exclusive Indiegogo discussion will include tips and advice to help kick off a successful campaign, including: the key components to a successful pitch, perks and how they are important, setting goals and planning ahead so they are reached, and how to engage an audience.

“It’s really exciting that Indiegogo has chosen Games Invest and the Eurogamer Expo for its first major conference session in the UK,” commented Rupert Loman, the Eurogamer Managing Director. “This is an amazing opportunity for indie developers to find out essential campaign tips and advice directly from a major global crowdfunding platform.”

There will be a number of other speakers that will be making an appearance at this year’s Game Invest, such as: We R Interactive, GAMESBrief, Standfast Interactive, Octopus Investments, Sony Computer Entertainment Eurpope XDev, and much more.
