We here at e:info Games love to play a session of Krater from time to time. You probably aren’t surprised to know that we were jumping for joy with the news of Fatshark’s upcoming co-op patch that was coming to the game’s apocalyptic wasteland in the next few weeks.
Krater takes place in the radioactive vegetable patch of Sweden, which had experience the catastrophe of a nuclear war many years ago. You play as a group of wasteland adventurers on the quest to discover the secrets behind this forgotten land, while also attempting to unravel the mysteries of the deep and incredibly dangerous Hole.
Krater gives players the chance to experience a completely new take on the RPG adventure genre, while borrowing the inspirations of previous classics like Diablo and Baldur’s Gate. The upcoming content update will not allow you and your friends to play side by side as a compact team of wastelanders, but a huge chunk of new features are being added to the game, such as:
- More soundtrack music
- Character focused DLC
- Gaming tweaks that completely change the core gameplay
“The co-op DLC will be available on October 23, 2012 via Steam. The download will be free, and will also include a large number of updates to the single player content.” says Martin Wahlund, CEO and Executive Producer, Fatshark. “Shortly thereafter there will also be new character DLC’s with some nice vanity flavour to them if you want your character to look the best when playing the game.”
Just like when we spoke to Fatshark directly, they have stuck to their promise and been listening very closely to its loving community.
“The game experience from day one to now is very different. We have listened to the player feedback. There is a lot things adjusted and added to the game.” says Robert Bäckström, Producer, Fatshark. “If you played the game at release, and play it on October 23rd, you will get a whole new experience.”
The new co-op dlc will be available on October 23rd, 2012.
In Einfo Games Krater Review they gave the game a 9 / 10.
