Latest Alien Rage trailer out now and its coming to Gamescom

Surely they could have thought of something less generic than Alien Rage

With Gamescom coming later this week its stands to reason that there would be some trailers for games that will show up and that’s where the latest Alien Rage trailer comes in.

Alien Rage is an upcoming hard-core sci-fi shooter from developers CI Games and well the best way I can describe it is to say that it’s a mix of Bulletstorm’s scoring system, the colour palate and armour designs from Gears of and the gameplay from old-school shooters like Doom.

Alien Rage will have you taking on over 20 different enemy types including both ordinary mechs and its more interesting spider versions or at least they look like mechs anyway. The latest Alien Rage trailer also appears to show enemies wearing jetpacks and that you’ll be able to shoot them and send them fly which looks pretty cool.

More games need giant mecha spider enemies.

When Alien Rage was shown off with its gameplay trailer during E3, it only showed us at most three weapons but now it’s been confirmed that we’ll get to play with 10 different weapons. These include a laser and at least three different machineguns and a gatling gun and each weapons will have two different firing modes like say Bulletstorm with one of which being where you fire one hell of a grenade.

Speaking of Bulletstorm the one thing missing from this trailer is the score system as well as the skillshots which considering that its pretty important to the game and possibly it’s replayablity is kind of odd. Also most of the guns shown off so far seem to all function as machine guns with the only real difference being what their second function.

However instead of talking about what’s missing lets instead bring up the fact that Alien Rage’s graphics look awesome especially since it’s coming to PSN and XBL even if everything is a shiny gun-metal grey but considering the fact that your most likely in an alien ship it does make sense and either way like I mentioned the game looks great.

On the plus side you will be to use your own mech as well.

Seriously these graphics look awesome for a PSN and XBL game.

The action packed trailer does however show off that Alien Rage will be non-stop action and the game will have a degree of variety in it since you’ll be able to polit your own mech suit in-game as well.

If you’re going to Gamescom this week and  Alien Rage seems to be your sort of game than you’re in luck because in the Business Area in room 22 and in the Entertainment Area at the Roccat Booth you can try a demo of the game for yourself.

While CI have announced that Alien Rage is due out on PSN, XBL and PC this Autumn if you go to Steam they have confirmed that it will be released September 27th.
