Anticipation and hype has been very big for Marvel Heroes, since it was announced. The game has now been released and brings the developer diary behind the iconic Fantastic 4 character – Human Torch.
Marvel Heroes is the only game where you can play as your favourite Marvel super hero and battle against anyone you like. The developers behind Marvel Heroes, Gazillion Entertainment, showcase the passion and enthusiasm that the development team put into designing and creating individual characters. The development team focussed on the design, creation and the implementation of powers for the Human Torch. The Human Torch has the ability to stand afar and destroy villains as well as being up-close to destroy them with the heat that he creates. As well as creating heat, Gazillion Entertainment gave the Human Torch the ability to consume the heat, that he had just emitted, to then burn the villains again, with the same heat!
There are currently twenty one different Marvel heroes in the game, and the development team are currently working on the Human Torch. They get inspiration from the comic books and the comic books alone; the reason for this is because it provides them with the best source of information on the character. The Human Torch (Johnny Storm) is the latest character to be created and inserted into the game. The visual effects artist, in particular, works very hard on placing and creating different aspects of the character, such as textures and glow maps so that the Human Torch can glow in several different places and the rest of the character will react with the glowing. As well as glow maps, Johnny Storm will change independently in colour, based on how much heat he has emitted, if he has emitted a lot of heat then the colour of his flames will change and his body will become spotty; whereas if he has not emitted any heat then the flames will still be scorching and bright orange in colour!
