Minecraft 1.8.2 XBLA Update

Minecraft 1.8.2 XBLA Update

Minecraft has been updated for the XBLA to include many features that PC Minecrafters have come to love. Dearest Mojang and 4J Studios, thank you for making all of these updates free. I will always hold both of these studios close to my heart. Now we lowly console gamers have access to Creative Mode.

The ingenuity of console gamers before the update has been amazing, with many players making elaborate maps, games, and replicas without the ease of Creative Mode. I made a hot air balloon on my map. Do you know how many times I fell while making the darned thing? I was just dying to fly the way that you can in the PC version, and now you can.

The Minecraft update will also include the hunger bar, and I will be interested to see how players react to that. At first, I thought it was annoying that I couldn’t just eat a piece of bread and get a heart back, but the addition of a hunger bar does make the game feel more like an adventure game. I can’t wait until they introduce enchanting and potions. They’re also introducing chain armor, since iron armor just doesn’t let your skin breathe.

The other big update is that they’re adding new mods, including Cave Spiders and Endermen. I hate the spider thing, because in my mind spiders are a concentration of all of the evil in the world, but I love Endermen. Except for when they take one of my blocks. That gets annoying. I’m never sure if they’re trying to steal from me or trying to give me something that is mine. I’m looking forward to seeing Xbox users post videos of their interactions with Endermen. That teleporting thing and the creepy noise are going to freak them out.
