NAMCO ANNOUNCES TALES OF XILLIA ON PLAYSTATION®3

Here we go! Long yellow hair, swords, action, combos, free run – NAMCO announces Tales of XilliaTM on PlayStation®3. We all love anime and we all love RPGs. Ones who don’t need to start loving it.

NAMCO claims that the title would rock the Japenese RPG market like no other. Olivier Comte, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Publishing for NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe S.A.S said “The latest game in this prolific series gives gamers a brand new world and cast of characters to adventure along with its celebrated battle system that has yet to be rivaled by other Japanese RPGs.”

Although I find all such RPG’s to be alike in some way or the other but Tales of Xillia promises an impressive environment, appealing battle system and a long game play. One of the key elements in RPG’s is the story line.

The game follows Jude Mathis, a medical student and a mysterious woman Milla Maxwell who is accompanied by four spirits. The players get to choose from either of the two.

The spirits part does add a special touch mainly for players who like mages in fantasy games. Tales of Xillia is about saving the Kingdom of Rashugal from its mana leeching device. Now come on, spirits and humans can’t live without mana can they? I don’t understand how we do.

As for the battle system, one of the key rudiments of any game, Tales of Xillia uses a Linear Motion Battle System for which the whole series is famous for.

The system uses real time movement and attacks combined with spectacular combos for the players. The game has it all thus giving players an engaging environment and game play by letting them strategize the party system as they see fit.

All in all the game looks good as others and all we can do now is to wait and see how NAMCO delivers.
