Today 2K sports announced record breaking sells from their last basketball simulation outing NBA 2K13. NBA 2K13 scored the highest first week sells of any previous top rated 2K basketball simulations. NBA 2K13 sold 49 percent more copies than the franchises previous top-selling game, NBA 2K11.
Online members have more than doubled from last year’s outing, 2K12, In fact, the numbers of online playing has grown massively, seeing an 127 percent growth over last year’s totals.
NBA 2K13 has met critical acclaim, recently receiving a perfect 10/10 score from PlayStation: The Official Magazine, saying that the games improvement “elevates 2K13 beyond mere annual greatness and into hall-of-fame consideration.” PlayStation: Official Magazine weren’t the only one impressed will 2K13. IGN scored it 9.1/10 quoting that is was “amazing and “obviously one of the best hoops games out there.”
Jason Argent, Vice President of Marketing for 2K Sports stated “Our early sales figures are a validation of our ongoing efforts to push this franchise to new heights. We owe it to our great fans to continually improve our title- year in and year out- and that’s exactly what we’ve done with NBA 2K13.”
NBA 2K13 this year joined forces with hip hop icon Jay-Z, (The Blueprint Series and The Black Album.) who served as the game’s executive producer. Jay-Z was a major force behind the game’s soundtrack and visual feel. He also played a pivotal part in getting the NBA 1992 “Dream Team” featured in this year’s edition.
NBA 2K13 also features a new Control Stick, giving players more control than before.
NBA 2K13 was Developed by Visual Concepts, a 2K Sports studio, and is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB. NBA 2K13 will now ready to play on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii, Windows PC, and will be a launch title alongside the Wii U November 18 in North America and internationally November 30.
