Nintendo Art Academy and Crosswords Plus Now Available

Nintendo have announced the immediate launch of two new  titles for the 3DS.  Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone! and Crosswords Plus are now available. Both games are relased for  the Nintendo 3DS and 3DS XL. 

Nintendo’s Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone is a game where people of any level of artistic skill can learn various painting and drawing techniques.  An in-game tutor will guide users through more than 30 new lessons covering various concepts, including techniques for paints, pastels, sketch pencils and coloured pencils. Each lesson can be completed at the players own pace and postponed for later completion. 

Art Academy also features a free paint mode, to encourage users to let their imagination run wild.   In Art Academy users will  be able to take photos using their system’s built in camera and use the image as the subject of their drawing.

 

In Crosswords Plus, users can solve more than 1,000 crossword puzzles at a variety of different skill levels.  Nintendo’s puzzler also features word search, anagrams and a vocabulary building Word of the Day feature  Players will also be able to access additional puzzles from other users via Nintendo StreetPass.  Players will also be able to receive exclusive puzzle distribution from Nintendo Zone locations. Nintendo Zone offers a free and automatic connection to Wi-Fi and can be found by visiting www.nintendo.com/3ds/nintendozone.

Scott Moffit, Nintendo of America’s executive of Sales and Marketing voiced his opinion on both games stating:

"Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone! let’s everyone learn about how to draw and paint creatively, regardless of their current skill levels" … "Crosswords Plus is a blast whether you're a vocabulary enthusiast or just love solving word puzzles. Both of these new titles offer something for everyone, whether you consider yourself a traditional gamer or not."

Gamers can buy both packaged games as usual at game stores. However the game can also be downloaded via the Nintendo eShop.

Nintendo have also added extra incentive for eShop purchasers. Club Nintendo members who buy either of these titles through the Nintendo eShop and register them before Jan. 6, 2013, will receive a download code for the original Donkey Kong. This game is a special edition of the NES class which has been edited to add the “cement factory” level.  Donkey Kong was only previously bundled with the Mario 25th Anniversary Wii bundle in Europe and Japan.
