Nintendo Brings Wii U to PAX Prime

Nintendo Brings Wii U to PAX Prime

Scheduled to take place on August 31 through September 2 at the wonderful city of Seattle, Washington, PAX Prime has quite a bit of hype surrounding it and with good reason. With the appearance of highly anticipated games, such as MechWarrior Online, highly acclaimed developers and more, it’s easy to see why. Nintendo is also contributing to the party with exclusive hands-on demos with the innovative Wii U™ as well as other activities.

The Wii U™ will be launched just in time for the holiday seasons, but guests at PAX Prime will get to take it for a test drive before its official release date. The Wii U™ system introduces the Wii U Gamepad, a 6.2-inch touch screen that will change the way gamers interact with their games. With a new system comes new games such as Pikmin™ 3, ZombiU™ and New Super Mario Bros.™ U; all of which will be playable during PAX Prime in the Nintendo booth (#462). New games for the Nintendo 3DS™ and Nintendo DS™ handheld systems will also make their debut at PAX Prime.

Nintendo will also play host to a live Kid Icarus™: Uprising tournament on August 31 at 6:30 PM. It will take place in the Nintendo Gaming Lounge on the Washington State Convention Center’s third floor, offering players an opportunity to show off their skills. The matches will be three-on-three Light vs. Dark multiplayer battles, and prizes will be given to the winners ranging from AR Cards to Nintendo Prepaid cards. Participants are asked to bring their own Nintendo 3DS system and copy of the game. The Nintendo Gaming Lounge will also play home to Pokemon fans, serving as a place to battle, trade, and talk to other Pokemon Trainers.

While testing and enjoying the games that Nintendo has to offer, guests will also be able to participate in a hunt for stickers. To celebrate the November 11th release of Paper Mario™: Sticker Star for Nintendo 3DS, attendees will be challenged to find three stickers by following the clues posted on Nintendo’s official Twitter account. Those who collect all three stickers can give them to a Nintendo representative in the Gaming Lounge and then be rewarded with a special bonus sticker. Closer to the games release, a Paper Mario: Sticker Star sticker book will be released allowing those lucky enough to collect all four stickers to display their collection with pride.
