Plan B Labs Reveals ThinkInvisible

Plan B, an indie studio backed by GameFounders, has launched their new app-based game ThinkInvisible. Well, since they brought it up, when I think invisible, I think of the Invisible Woman. She’s one of the stronger members of the Fantastic Four now, but let’s be real: that would be a crummy power.

I can think of way cooler things than disappearing from time to time. Sadly, if you look at most of the modern media landscape, you’d think the whole world was filled with invisible women (ba dum tish!). Now that I think of it, all of the Fantastic Four members have sort of tragic powers. Marvel, why do you have to be so angsty? Why can’t you just enjoy weird powers that would make the world better? Oh no, don’t give me that “with great power comes great responsibility” nonsense.

ThinkInvisible presents you an image, obscuring most of it while asking you to guess what exactly the image is. It helps you a bit by giving you a set of letters used to describe the picture, so that’s nice.

The game does all of this with a sharp graphic sensibility and a bright color palette. From what I can see, I would feel like an idiot quite often when playing this game. Well of course that’s a rabbit/a sandwich/a lamppost! Why couldn’t I see the ears/pickles/faun in a scarf? Puzzle games mostly make me feel bad about myself. They’re like the Pinterest of video games. Have you ever gone on Pinterest? It’s all beautiful women making amazing food or sewing beautiful clothes saying inspirational things all day while they dance with their loving spouses and children. Ugh. I feel like I need to lie down and think about my life. Maybe I’ll be able to solve a few of these darned puzzles.

Now give this a try for yourself here.
