Stay Dead, developed by BRUCE Film is a new fighting game that uses a technique they call ‘Motion Picture Game’.
The graphics are composed of real life footage shot with multiple cameras, just like in a film. From a viewer, the game would look exactly like a film, with all the fast paced action you would expect.
With on screen commands, you control the on screen action, with 150 different techniques at your disposal. You choose, and at times rhythmically press the on screen buttons to trigger stronger blows, or different types of attacks.
From my understanding, and the trailer, it is a fighting game, with rhythmn like attributes, and Quicktime events that you somewhat have control over.
I believe the game composes of many clips that string together when you perform a specific action. It is the only real way the game could work, but the website states that you freely move the character…
In Stay dead, even if the graphic is entirely shot in real life, you can freely move your character just like in any normal arcade game, and you can perform more than 180 different combos distribuited in 5 stages.
Forget about the old interactive movies from the 80’s. Stay dead is a fast action arcade game with total freedom of action, combined with a cinematographic direction.
In every level of this round beat’em up you will fight against a different martial art master.
Fight with your bare hands or with a stick. Use all the classic moves of the fighting games, lifts and projections included, just watch the result of your stunts with a never seen before realism and a spectacularity that just a real life shot with a cinematographic direction can provide.
