Strategic War in Europe Update

Strategic War in Europe Update

Strategic War in Europe has updated to version 1.04 to improve gameplay and fix bugs. That’s good. I’m glad people haven’t gotten into the habit of increasing the number on their product without making any actual changes in a dishonest attempt to get money, but that’s probably because Apple has a patent on that business model. I believe they call it “iBusiness,” since research showed that customers became suspicious when it was called, “iMRippingYouOff.”

The development studios Slitherine, Matrix Games, and Wastelands Interactive worked together to bring players this update. You can now choose to play without features like research, purchasing, changing unit types, and more, in a move to give players more flexibility. The update to Strategic War in Europe also gives players the ability to detect ships more easily, and increased fleet movement points, in addition to removing some bugs.

Besides being an awkwardly named game, Strategic War in Europe is a World War II era, tabletop-style PC game that allows players to command one or more of 25 countries. If the game would let me, I would play as the Vatican City. I hear that place is paved in gold, and I believe folks there get to wear that fabulous chapeau the Pope owns, but only when he isn’t looking (you have to snatch it when he’s napping). I know that I wouldn’t have any tactical advantages, but my troops would be stylish and my machine guns would be made of pure gold. They’d probably fall apart when I fired them, but it would be worth it to be defeated fashionably. If more wars were won based on style, I feel like the world would be a better place. Or it would at least be better looking. Tim Gunn would be a benevolent King. To the beautiful go the spoils!
