
Korean indie studio, Turtle Cream will be releasing Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory onto Stream. Bittersweet Factory was originally released in February on was available through Desura & Indievania and Humble Store.
After only two days on Stream Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory sold more copies on Stream then the previous nine months before. Edmund Mcmillen posted on his blog “Stream is a freaking power house.”
“We already knew Steam is a big marketplace because we bought and enjoyed many games. But we never knew it’s so surprisingly big! It’s like we launched a brand new game to the public with full powered PR. We got another chance. This game is more polished then what we released at February. So please give another chance even if you played earlier. You will have a much better experience,” stated Edmund Mcmillen.
Sugar Cube: Bittersweet Factory is a commercial version of 2D platformer game that presents the story of sugar cube, and has won 2010 IGF China best video game. The players have some control of how the game plays out. The game has two different sides, so depending on how you play, the environments change drastically.
The game features five world themes, 90 unique levels, 20 achievements, and two different endings. Add in the cool, very sweet soundtrack on you have an enjoyable platformer.
The game is available through many digital distribution stores for Windows PC such as Steam, Desura, Indievania, Greenman Gaming and direct purchase via Humble Store on their official website.
The game is also available at a 30 percent discount courtesy of Steam.
The Stream version improves on the previous title by offering gamepad control, more polished level design, better gameplay, and the game soundtrack is available.
