Even though Gamescom 2012 has ended, it needs to be brought to gamer’s attention of a surprising gem of the game show event. With people still feeling unsure about purchasing the excellent Playstation Vita handheld, maybe Media Molecule’s Tearaway can change your mind.
As seen in the trailer Tearaway shows that an old dog can still learn new tricks. Media Molecule is obviously famous for their creation of the critically acclaimed Little Big Planet franchise, but Tearaway looks to take a step into the adventure genre without losing the company’s love for digital crafting.
Tearaway sees the player follow the journey of new protagonist ‘iota’. Our upcoming hero must travel the paper craft lands delivering happiness to its fellow inhabitants. The player must help iota complete special tasks for his/her friends such as creating objects, patterns and many other things in an attempt to make the papery world a better place.
The game shows that through the available features of the Vita, the player can create a wide range of things such as taking pictures of different patterns for an Elk needing a new look and even cutting out a crown using the handhelds touch screen for a royal squirrel.
This happy world isn’t without its evils though as iota needs your help in getting past the games large mustascho enemies that hope to stop iota in his/her joyous quest. Tearaway thus gives players the ability to actually break into the iota’s world to give a helping hand, such as press their fingers into the back touch screen and chasing enemies with their protective fingers.
Tearaway is looking to be an outstanding game for Vita owners and if you are thinking about purchasing the handheld for yourself, then this might be the game for you.
