“It’s never been more important than it is now for the industry to come together and for different sectors to support one another. Games journalism is the heart and soul of the video games industry . What Games Journalism Prizes is doing is an absolute good.”…“The simple and streamlined way this initiative highlights the creativity and passion at the heart of games writing is brilliant. We’re very proud to support it.”
Thumbstar is a mobile games service provider representing more than 150 developers, providing in excess of 3500 titles through 200 channels globally. This includes the UK and Europe.
Dan Griliopoulos, Games Journalism Prizes Advisory Committee member also spoke about the competition saying:
“Obviously, the kudos of having your writing recognised by your peers should be reward enough for any writer, but starving artists have to pay the rent on that garrett somehow, so we’re very happy that Thumbstar has chosen to donate this money. We’ve decided that the thousand pounds will go straight to the winner of the best piece chosen by all the judges, without even resting in our bank accounts. We’re tempted to call it The Grand Prize. “
Journalists looking to enter the competition can submit any piece of journalism written in English and published between January 2012 and December 31st 2012.
Entries can be submitted at www.gamesjournalismprize.com.
