Ukie award to champion British developers at Gamescom

The flagship Ukie UK Game of the Show will be awarded at Gamescom 2013.

July – 2013, London: Ukie have proudly announced a brand new award that recognises the extent of growing talent in the UK. The UK Game of the Show prize, which is sponsored by UK Trade & Investment will be awarded this year at Cologne’s Gamescon to the British based games developer, that is the best representative of the outstanding skill and creative, original talent of today’s UK developers. As a trading establishment championing the UK’s gaming industry, Ukie is eager to pull out all the stops to highlight the home talent that is new and developing, in order to recommend them to the wider, international industry.

To qualify for the Ukie Game of the Show, you need to be a games developer based in the UK, and creating a new game on any platform that is yet to be launched publicly. The CEO of Ukie, Jo Twist says,

“There’s so much exciting new talent in the UK games industry at the moment, making truly innovative games. We believe that the new developers deserve support and recognition, especially abroad. The Ukie Game of the Show was conceived to do just that – celebrate the accomplishments of this next generation of developers in an international Expo setting, and so put them in the international spotlight”.
