With over 100,000 Beta Sign-ups already, War of the Roses is looking to be one highly anticipated in the coming year.
This week at Gamescom Paradox Interactive sprayed several delicious chunks of information on their upcoming Medieval War game that sees you command a “squad” of 15th century knights as you ride into battle and take on endless hordes of enemy combatants.
Paradox has informed players that this week they will release the first batch beta keys for aspiring knights to get their plated hands on. Not only that but Paradox Interactive also announced that players can also begin placing their orders in for reserved copies of the game on August 20th, 2012.
Check out the video below that shows the inspiration that went into the game along with some exclusive Gamescom gameplay:
War of the Roses also sees the talented people of Fatshark dip their hands in the development. Fatshark proved their might a month ago when we graced them with an excellent score for their own game ‘Krater’. Paradox’s Senior Producer also have many positive thoughts to share on the supportive developer:
“It’s a real testament to the hard work that Fatshark has put into the game, that over 100,000 people have signed up for the Beta,” said Gordon Van Dyke, Senior Producer for War of the Roses. “The level of enthusiasm that people have had to start playing has been incredible, and we can’t wait to hear what they think once they’re actually in the game. Our goal right now is to make sure every last person who signed up gets into the beta, but forging 100,000 swords takes a while. We’ll be letting folks in, following the priority order we’ve set, and I’ll see every last one of you on the battlefield!”
War of the Roses is set to release on the PC in 2013.
