Wargame Airland Battle has released it’s first DLC known as “Vox Populi”. This DLC, as mentioned above, is completely free. Therefore, Eugen Systems has decided to cut out the middle man and automatically update the game instead of forcing players to manually download it.
Wargame Airland Battle is a sequel to Wargame European Escalation, another RTS title by Eugen Systems.For those of you who are unfamiliar with this game, Wargame Airland Battle has been developed by Eugen Systems and is a real time strategy game revolving around modern strategic warfare. The game takes place during a late Cold War era skirmish in Scandinavia. Players are allowed to choose to play as the Nato forces or the forces of the Warsaw Pact. Long term planning is key, as any troops you lose cannot be regained. There is also a multiplayer mode that can hold up to twenty players per match.
The new Vox Populi DLC was produced as a direct response to demands made by players. Conquest mode, a feature from Wargame European Escalation, has made it’s return in the Vox Populi DlC. This feature is accessible in both multiplayer and singleplayer modes. As the name would suggest, Conquest mode revolves around controlling territory rather than simply obliterating the enemy forces. This offers a new type of challenge to players, and is fully compatible with all multiplayer maps.
There is also a new co-op feature for campaign mode. Now, you and a friend can work together against an AI. Furthermore, players in skirmish mode can select the ethnicity and type of their AI adversaries. Vox Populi also adds 24 new units and 5 new maps, usable in Destruction and Conquest modes, for an even greater variety of encounters.
