WebZen’s MU Chronicle R Announced (Prizes Incoming)

WebZen, a leader in the field of free-to-play video games, has announced that it is releasing an “adaption” to the highly regarded MU Online. MU Chronicle R (as it is known until June 27), is said to be in the “final stages of development” and will soon be hosting a closed beta test.

The original MU Online was created in 2001, by the Korean gaming company, WebZen. As is in most games of this genre, the player is to choose between five classes and level up his or her character. In MU Online, PVP combat is highly discouraged. If a player kills another player, he is given the rank of “Outlaw” and is afflicted with some in-game handicaps until the outlaw rank has worn off. In MU Chronicle R however, will focus on leveling up and PVP, and to promote this, WebZen will be hosting Player vs Player tornuments, in which the winners will recieve “cash prizes” after the game is released.

As MMORPGs require servers to be played on, WebZen.com will be hosting the first global sever. However, in order to achieve localized service around the globe, WebZen will be reaching out to players in each country and will provide the top “Game Masters” with prizes.

WebZen does not stop there with their giving. Until July 3rd, 2013, WebZen is hosting a Facebook contest to celebrate the game’s release. If you go to their Facebook page and like and/or share their content, you will be entered in to a raffle to receive some pretty awesome prizes. These include: an Alienware Laptop, W Coins (or gPotato) and a grand prize to amazing to be determined yet. Here’s the link
