Blizzard is throwing a party, and gamers all over Europe are invited to celebrate the launch of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. The party will be hosted with a variety of retailers, so check out this link to find the shindig closest to you. If you can’t make it to one of the locations, or if you don’t like parties because they make you nervous, you are not alone. I always have this dream where I have to dance in public, and I end up doing the Charleston, and then the apocalypse starts. I think it’s a sign that I’m not meant to cut loose at parties. I don’t want to be responsible for ending the world. For those who stay at home, there will be a livestream on Youtube for free. Hopefully they disable the comments, because nobody wants to see a bunch of arrogant college students derail the launch event by trying to debate religion or politics. Youtube has never been, and will never be, a place for thoughtful discussion. Feel free to debate that with me.
The stream is scheduled to start on September 24 at 22:30 CEST, which is half an hour before Mists of Pandaria goes live. Hopefully you’ll have all of your other games wrapped up by then, and you’ll have said goodbye to your loved ones and taken a few days off of work. I’m sure this update will be a doozy. There will be film crews recording the video game-induced revelry in Paris, Moscow, Milan, Madrid, London, Stockholm, and Cologne. There will be a live performance of music from the game in addition to interviews with developers and audience participation segments. Sounds like fun. Anybody want to buy me some plane tickets to any major city in Europe?
