Bucketz Ride earns its 8, with the game being mostly enjoyable but with its obvious flaws it might not prove to be easy to play for all. It is a must try for all though, as it is free so I can definitely recommend everyone to give it a try that owns a iOS device.
Difficult and addictive are just two words that could be used to describe Bucketz Ride, a free iOS game that is fun for all ages, developed by Picnic Hippo. Aimed mostly for multiplayer, but still available for those of you that prefer singleplayer, Bucketz Ride is a endless race to beat your friends scores as you race along to reach the “Big Secret”. While doing so you advance through different areas, such as the big city or the edges of the Universe just to name a few. The game might sound easy right now, but I have yet to mention that in the process of trying to race your friends, you have to balance out the 9 random bucketz that you are given with the array of different objects that will be thrown at you in the process.
These objects range form the most common meteorite , to many things that you see everyday. You can die one of two ways in Bucketz Ride, either by tipping the platform that your bucketz are on over, or clicking the bombs that fly over the screen as you go along. Along with these two ways, as you progress more enemies or objects you have to watch out for or avoid are added to the mix. Just one example of these obstacles are the Minions, these disc like objects will stick to your screen stopping whatever items come in their path until you decide to tap them away. The game does provide you a way to ease the difficulty though, giving you the option to upgrade many different things, using the currency that you can earn in-game. You can earn this currency in two ways, either by picking it up while playing, or completing three challenges to level up.
These challenges can range from many different things, from getting a certain amount of power ups, to knocking out a few enemies. After completing the three challenges given to you, you will then level up. Getting to the next level is not just for show though, it rewards with youth the choice of one of three crates each one holding something that will help you out, the most common being a bundle of the in-game currency. Once you contain a good amount of the currency you can go to the in-game shop to upgrade, while all of these upgrades will help you, the ones that are that help the most will of course cost more of the currency. If you are struggling with obtaining the currency though, or just do not want to have to wait to receive it, you can always buy big bundles of the currency for real cash. Though this is definitely not necessary as everything is obtainable by just playing the game, so you are not missing out if you do not buy the currency. While you play the game you will come across power ups that will help you also. such as one that will completely restore your balance for a short period of time, to a clock that will slow down the field of items flying at you.
During your play you will also encounter some small mini-games, thy are all themed, with the items all having something to do with the title of the mini-game. While these mini-games usually play out as good, if you are not prepared for the huge wave of items coming at you these can lead to your death. While I have mostly been talking about the games advantages, the game does have its downsides. While I did not find it too difficult, if you are not the best at these types of games you most likely will. The currency is also not easy to obtain, with the game only giving you small amounts during gameplay, leaving leveling up to be the only true form to obtain enough currency for upgrades. Overall, these downsides do not take away from the sheer addictive and enjoyable nature of the game. The game proves to be very colorful and creative, making the experience on that does not get old quickly as you try to beat your friends records.
