Portal meets Lovecraftian Horror in Magrunner, now on PC

Take Portal’s puzzle solving mechanics and thrust them into a game that is infused with H.P. Lovecraftian-inspired psychological horror themes and you get Magrunner: Dark Pulse, a game that has just been released on PC.

Magrunner: Dark Pulse is a first-person physics puzzler set in 2048, where a group of citizens has been chosen by Gruckezber Corporation to join the Magtech training program for space exploration. You will have access to Gruckezber’s special glove, which, not unlike the gravity gun from Half-Life, allows you to “magnetically charging objects that will attract or repel each other” as you try to navigate out of mazes and other puzzle-like conundrums.

But there is a twist for the candidates involved in the program: Things are simply not what they seem, and now the candidates are thrust into a nightmare where they must survive the tech world gone mad.

Developed by Focus Home Interactive, Magrunner is available now on PC on most digital download platforms. It also will make its debut on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network in September.

Focus Home Interactive is an independent publisher based near Paris, France, and has worked on games such as: Blood Bowl, Sherlock Holmes, TrackMania, Runaway, Cities XL, and Cycling Manager and Farming Simulator.
