Xbox Music launches

Next week Microsoft will launch its web version of Xbox Music, according to a report on The Verge.

The new streaming app from Microsoft is available on Xbox 360, Windows 8, and Windows 8 devices, but sources are claiming that the service will become widely available for the website at Music.Xbox.com. Much like Spotify, Xbox music allows its users to “Stream millions of songs” and download them for offline use. With a pass, libraries and playlists become available for automatic  syncing across all Xbox Music devices.

Microsoft had released news just last week to ditch the Xbox One’s proposed used game DRM policies, and the requirement for the console to check in every 24 hours.
Retailers at Gamestop had “applauded” Microsoft for its change in policies: “This is great news for gamers and we applaud Microsoft for understanding consumers and the importance of the pre-owned market,” said a rep.

Microsoft has also announced an Xbox One release date window for November 2013 in 21 different markets with a price of £429 / $499 / €499.

I myself am curious to see what other announcements Microsoft will give now that the policies have been removed, despite the loss of the neat digital features which looked promising.
