A Winter of Wars breaks out in District 187

CJ Games Global today announced Winter of Wars, a large content update to its first person shooter District 187: Sin Streets. This update is intended to add a variety of features to the urban shooter.

Foremost of this content is three new maps; Chem Lab, Hope Clinic and Underground, each of which each boast an array of different environments. Players will need to carefully monitor their surroundings for snipers, but can also choose to fight in claustrophobic tunnels. A new section of the city titled “The Port” will also be available as a capturable territory in the Street Fight mode.

Winter of Wars will also add ten new unlockable weapons suited to many different playstyles. Gamers can choose from three different melee weapons or opt for one of four new primary guns. The new update will also feature District 187‘s first permanent gun, with more such weapons to follow in later updates. Players can also equip new items to give them an edge in combat by reducing respawn time or locating grenades in their vicinity.

In addition, Winter of Wars intends to build on the customisation of District 167 through the addition of a new achievement system. Players can now unlock and show off various titles and exclusive costumes by playing matches or racking up kills with specific weapons. Furthering this customisation, the update will also add two new costume sets for the two rival factions in the game. On top of this, Winters of War will add a new Icon mechanic, allowing players to purchase a new unique character for each of the two factions and then customise them in a similar manner to the stock characters.

District 187: Sin Streets is free to play, relying on microtransactions for its funding. If you wish to find out more about this update or simply wish to try the game out, check out the official site.
