Agawi’s GameZen – Leveling Up Cloud Gaming

Cloud gaming service Agawi has unveiled an app that hopes to bring hundreds of thousands of games to Windows 8 called GameZen.

GameZen will be all about cloud-based streaming of many different game genres to all Windows 8 devices. Over 1,000 games will be available at launch. The capacity and flexibility of Agawi has great potential to continue to add games quickly. The company wants to stream thousands of games to Windows 8 devices in the future.

Windows 7 sold 670 million licenses and Windows 8 is expected to defeat that number. With GameZen, developers will be able to reach a broader audience and hopefully gain a lot of new users. Porting games to Windows 8 will be easy via Agawi and will be able to hit the market quickly while gaining users.

Agawi, formely cloud gaming serivce iSwifter, hopes to learn from OnLive’s mistakes and grow into a flourishing service for gamers. OnLive cloud gaming recently laid off all employees and was bought out by another company.

The executive chairman of Agawi, Peter Relan, said, “GameZen is a huge opportunity for both developers and gamers. We’re focusing on connecting Windows 8 users with their favorite games and helping them find new games they love, for a fun and accessible gaming experience.” Relan went on to add, “Developers will also benefit from a huge new audience available to them and the Windows 8 devices that are extremely well-suited to gaming, like the Surface tablet.”

In the Windows 8 app store, games take up about 20 percent of all apps.

You can get GameZen in the Windows 8 app store free of charge. If you are a developer who is interested in partnering with Agawi, you can sign up for AGP Gold.
