AS ANNOUNCED BY KALYPSO ENTERTAINMENT: 20TH MARCH IS THE DATE ‘ALIEN SPIDY’ WILL LAND ON PC, XBOX360 AND MAC. THE PS3 VERSION WILL BE RELEASED SOON AFTERWARDS.
First announced in November 2011 ‘Alien Spidy’ — action platformer where player assumes the role of extraterrestrial arachnid — will finally find its way to Xbox360, PC and Mac. The official release date is set for March 20th; The Playstation 3 version is to be released soon afterwards, however specific date is unknown.
The game will cost 800 Microsoft points for Xbox version and $9.99 for PC and Mac.
Alien Spidy is an old-school, side-scrolling action-platformer set in 2D/3D environment employing complex physics system. Main protagonist is an arachnid called ‘Spidy’ from distant world of Aracnia. He heads towards the Earth in search for his lost girlfriend Virgi with whom he lost contact. However, the journey becomes troublesome as his spacecraft breaks down upon entering Earth’s atmosphere. Now, Spidy is trapped on Earth and besides looking for his girlfriend he will have to collect and put together parts of the ship in order to make an escape.
Throughout the game player will face more and less difficult challenges requiring high dexterity and a bit of thinking. In order to beat them Spidy will have to use his web-slinging ability to solve puzzles and deftly move through hostile surroundings filled with dangerous traps. He will also meet a variety of creatures inhabiting Earth’s environment like insects, amphibians, smaller mammals and humans. Some of them will help him for example by serving as a movable platforms but some will posses a thrat — for example porcupines will try to spike him and bats will want to eat him.
The game is created by Enigma Productions — Madrit-based developer best known for 2011’s Legends of War: Patton’s Campaign.
