Air Conflicts: Pacific Carriers Explodes onto PSN

Developer Games Farm today released Air Conflicts: Pacific Carriers   in Europe on PSN for 39.99 euros.

Following the footsteps of Game Farm’s previous game Air Conflicts: Secret War, Pacific Carries chronicles the air battles fought in the Pacific during WWII. Gamers will be able to play as either an Imperial Japanese pilot or a member of the U.S. Air Force as they engage in dogfights with other aircraft. Several of the 49 available missions are based off real battles, with gamers able to participate in Peal Harbour or the conflict at Midway Island. Other scenarios use a fictitious story, but according the developers, these missions are still grounded in a realistic WW2 setting. For those that tire of single player missions, Air Conflicts: Pacific Carriers also offers 4 online multiplayer modes.

The hub of the player’s progression through Air Conflicts: Pacific Carriers is a player captained aircraft carrier in the Pacific. From this ship, players will launch one of 16 aircraft from both the WW1 and WW2 eras in order to engage in the missions.

Gameplay

Once in the air, players will be able to co-ordinate entire squadrons of aircraft, swapping between them as each mission progresses. The developers have put some emphasis on variety, with a variety of missions that deal with straight up dogfighting, stealth and reconnaissance. When it comes to conflict, players won’t be starved for options either, with the ability to machine gun enemy fighters,  drop bombs on strategic targets and use rockets to devastate enemy troop formations. Players will also be able to choose between flying in an Arcade mode or in a more realistic Simulation mode.

For those wanting to try out Air Conflicts: Pacific Carriers, it’s currently available on PSN as a demo. This demo contains the tutorial as well as two additional missions; one for the Japanese, one for the U.S. Air Force.
