Apple Event Confirmed for October 22

New iPad models expected for reveal

Today it was announced that Apple will be hosting an event on October 22, and has already begun sending out invitations. The announcement was made by The Verge, which received an invite that says, “We still have a lot to cover.”

A previous announcement rumored that Apple will be revealing the latest updates to its iPad series at an invitation-only event on the same date. A few other sources claim Apple will also be making several Mac announcements as well.

Further rumors suggest Apple’s new fingerprint sensor and Touch ID might also make it into the final product. The iPad mini is also reportedly due for an upgrade to retina display and either the A7 processor or the A6 -which is currently in the iPhone 5C. Apple plans to launch the new iPads on November 1.

Exciting news, but most of it is still speculation. The only confirmed news is there will be an event on Oct 22.  Despite the fact that the iPhone 5S and 5C announcement failed to wow audiences, the phones have sold fairly well overall. Let’s hope Apple can bring back the “wow factor” this time around.
