Battlefield 3 Even More Stunning With iGO3D

iGO3D started out as a simple gaming research initiative, and over time has broken through the surface of modern technology into one of the most visually impressive ways to view 3D gaming. Complete with government funding, and a partial backing by Electronic Arts, iGO3D has been first brought to light for the first time with the ever popular Battlefield 3.

Interactive Games Ontario 3D (Or iGO3D) will make its first public appearance at the Canadian Comic Con, also known as Fan Expo Canada, featuring Battlefield 3 on the front lines. The exciting event is set for August 23-26th, and will entertain over 80,000 people in a span of 400,000 square feet, in the Metro Toronto Convention Center. Fan Expo Canada is the third largest pop culture gathering in all of North America, and rightfully so as it will contain over 700 exhibitors sure to dazzle the eager eyes of gamers everywhere. First and foremost, Battlefield 3 will be held in a massive competition for all to participate and enjoy. If you think you’ve played Battlefield 3 with 3D support in a competition just like this one, you must be mistaken.

Palmer Luckey, who you may recognize as the Founder of the intriguing Oculus Rift Head mounted display, put in his opinion on the event, stating “It is great to see this important research being done around 3D gaming quality, and I hope that in the future, the work can extend to fringe technologies like virtual reality.”

It’s a well known fact that the default version of Battlefield 3 already contains stereoscopic 3D support, only this time its full potential has been unleashed by adding iGO3D and Dynamic Digital Depth, creating an entirely new breed of 3D options and quality. Every competition computer has been rigged to overload with AMD GPU technology, 3D displays like the Zalman 24” polarized 3D monitor, and Samsung’s all new 27” 3D panels with LCD shutter glasses to boot. Prizes will certainly be available, and any gamers who prevail could be awarded all kinds of gadgets like Audiofly headphones, copies of Battlefield 3, and DDD TriDef license keys which gamers can use to play in 3D at home.

Project Director of the iGO3D initiative, Neil Schneider said “Among other things, this specially designed gaming tournament will tell us if people can effectively compete in stereoscopic 3D and what factors impact this if any. This invaluable information will help shape future stereoscopic 3D titles so game developers can deliver what customers really want.” Dr. Andrew Hogue, the additional Project Director of iGO3D spoke about his excitement as well, saying “After over a year and half of work, it’s time to have fun – and thanks to our industry partners and a great 3D game, Fan Expo will be fantastic.”

No heroic deeds or legendary pasts are necessary to enter the competition, if your interested simply head over to the iGO3D booth # 1251 to enter. Gamers curious to know the full facts related to 3D and VR gaming can jump over to the Meant to be Seen website at http://www.mtbs3D.com
