Gaming conventions can be tough to attend.
Prohibitive factors can range from location to ticket prices to the convention being sold out. The latter reason is exactly why Blizzard Entertainment announced the sale of “Virtual Tickets” for its upcoming BlizzCon – taking place November 8 and 9 at the Anaheim Convention Center – for fans to enjoy the best of Blizzard from the comforts of their own mancaves.
Blizzard Entertainment, the developer of Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo, will host the popular annual convention providing live online HD English-language coverage of the aforementioned games’ community celebration.
Viewers will be able to access the convention, as well as two exclusive channels featuring:
Developer panels: news and behind-the-scenes insights from developers on the games.
Exclusive interviews: exclusive interviews with the developers.
Community contests: contests include the BlizzCon Costume Contest and the new-for-2013 Talent COntest, both hosted by comedian and BlizzCon veteran Jay Mohr.
Closing ceremony
On-Demand Replays: the Virtual Ticket allows for DVR functionality, which allows viewers to rewatch moments from the convention.
Purchasers of the ticket will also get bonus loot, including in-game perks for WOW, StarCraft II, Diablo III, and Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. The Virtual Ticket also grants access to an exclusive, limited-time online pre-BlizzCon merchandise sale featuring a selection of commemorative items that will be available for purchase at the show.
If you don’t purchase a VT, free eSports streams will be available, which will stream free HD footage of the opening ceremony and this year’s BlizzCon eSports tournaments, including the StarCraft II World Championship Series Global Finals and the World of Warcraft Arena Global Invitational.
The ticket is available for $39.99 USD.
More information of the ticket can be found at www.blizzcon.com/virtual-ticket/.
